History of the BBQ

    The night before the 25th annual VTR convention in Portland Maine, we invited all Triumph owners who would be passing through Montreal en route to Maine to stop over for a "cookout" Montreal style. We had so much fun that we've decided to make this an annual event!.

1st Anuual Triumph BBQ July 27th 1999

    I would like to thank the forty odd who came and shared this special evening with us. We had folks from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, Texas and Ontario and not to forget a couple of local Triumph members. It's nice to know that Montreal is so central when one drives a Triumph:}. Perhaps we'll make Montreal a "pit" stop for those en route to next years Portland Oregon convention as well!

With all those Triumphs in my driveway and on the street , I don't think my neighborhood will ever be the same.

 I'd like to thank everyone who joined us, we had a wonderful time. Al Carbone was kind enough to send along some pictures which you will find below.

 

2nd Annual Triumph BBQ July 5th 2000

The 2nd Annual Montreal Triumph BBQ was another success and a great time was had by all. There was a rather sparse showing of cars this year and according to  Don Elliot rumor has it that summer had been cancelled. Even if most of the cars couldn't make it, their owners showed up in force with about 45 attendees present to sample Susan's excellent cuisine. This year she really outdid herself and most have already marked off their calendar's for next years eating extravaganza!  Next year we expect all Montreal Triumph club members to show which will be a club first!

Susan made a lovely presentation to Dave Geller of a beautifully decorated "TR3TR4 water pump" burger topped with a dill pickle. Dave was offered 20W-50 Castrol to wash it down but he declined to eat it complaining about a rust allergy.

3rd Annual BBQ July 4th 2001.

 Dedicated to the memory of  Dave Geller, approx 20 Triumph club members and their spouses endured a terrible downpour to attend. Unfortunately none were able to bring their cars and so we had to concentrate on drinking, eating and talking about our Triumphs. Despite the weather, a good time was had by all and once again Susan outdid herself in the cooking department!
