Douglas P. Ross (deceased 31/1/2003)
Stanfield NC (USA)
-'60 TR3A " Rosebud", Ser.#TS50786L, Engine # TS50953E, was built on April  27th, 1959 and shipped to Jarrard Motors, Pensacola Florida on May 8th, 1959  In the late '50s and early '60s Douglas worked as a Triumph Mech., Service Mgr. and race mech. at a TR dealership Annapolis Motors in Washington DC. Douglas found the '60 in a field with grass growing through the floor. After two year restoration she won Best of Show, Participant's Choice at Richmond Va. Regional VTR, 1st time out!

As many of you know, Doug has been battling cancer for over 11 years. This morning, Doug lost his battle.  He passed away sometime this morning January 31, 2002.  Some of you may remember seeing a certain torch red TR3 in race prep attire with the number 22 on it (seen in many publications and at many shows around the country in recent years) that was Doug's pride and joy - Rosebud Racecar he called her.  He will be missed greatly.  I have some fond memories of taking some hot "parade laps" around Virginia International Raceway with Doug in Rosebud last year.  I know our local club will certainly miss him.
